We've had pretty good luck growing the stuff; it does okay in containers (well in 20L pails, anyway).

Would be nice to try, but I should probably first find a source of plants. I seem to have everything other than a green thumb when it comes to shiso. I've tried twice now to start from seed and haven't ended up even getting noticeable sprouts.
